After graduating from California State University Long Beach (CSULB), with a B.S. degree in Political Science, minor in Psychology, Tony became personally committed to the idea of becoming a Civil Rights Criminal Defense Attorney with the purpose guaranteeing equal rights and treatment of minorities who disproportionally make up the largest population in our judicial incarceration system. As luck would have it, his interest quickly shifted after graduation, when he joined the Boy Scouts of America as a fund and human development director, Tony became impassioned with the idea of public service helping to reach minority children break the cycle of violence while they’re still young by providing them alternative programs in the inner city.
In early 1995, Tony worked as a staff member for Mayor Richard J. Riordan in the City of Los Angeles, where he was strongly influenced by local and state government. While working as a staff member for the Mayor his principles and values were put to the test, working as a liaison for the departments of Fire, Police, Parks, Library and Animal Regulations, to make sure that government services were fully delivered to those the city intends to serve efficiently and effectively without the usual government red tape. After a year with Mayor Riordan, Tony decided to go back to work in fundraising, working for the American Heart Association in Los Angeles.
Tony resides in the city of Whittier, with his wife of eighteen years, and their three young children. Maria Lopez is also a real estate agent, and they both put their energy and expertise to work for the families of Bellflower, Compton, Downey, Long Beach, Paramount, Whittier, Walnut, and the surrounding areas. Tony’s principal philosophy has always been to treat all the people he serves with honesty and integrity.

Tony finds additional inspiration through his work with local charities in the community to meet some of life’s daily challenges. He started an annual Food drive to stump-out-hunger in the cities of Bellflower, Downey, Paramount, Long Beach area, and his goal is to reach a combine total of ten thousand can goods on an annual basis for charity groups that work to feed low-income families with young children, during the holiday season.
